Registration

Dial *645*86# to access the platform

Read terms and conditions and accept.

Register by entering:

Name – Start with first name, middle, surname ID Number

Regiom (formerly Province) County of Residence Next of Kin Name (both names) Next of Kin Phone Number (07xxxx),

Payment

To pay ksh 200, wait for a flash message to enter your bonga Pin or equitel pin. Enter the pin and submit. Successful submission will be acknowledged and an M-ASCA pin will be issued.

Setting your bonga Pin

Dial *126*5# and follow instructions. If not successful, visit any Safaricom care shop near you with your original ID and request for setting of your bonga. one can also call 200 for postpaor 234 for prepaid.

M-ASCA Menu

Go back to *645*86# and enter the M-ASCA pin to access your M-ASCA menu.

M-ASCA mobile platform has five modules from which members can navigate step by step to access the required module:

  1. Savings- one can either save to:  i) Temporary account-money can be saved to be removed via m-pesa, send to savings or used to repay loans or ii) Loan savings account-savings in this account are used for accessing loans and cannot be removed unless one closes account
  2. Send money- money in the temporary account can be send to m-pesa ot to a bank of choice
  3. Loans- This has four sub menus : i) Apply loan – one can apply for an ordinary or an emergency loan

iii. Loan products– read terms and conditions of borrowing- there are three products currently

  • Ordinary loan– three times savings with guarantors. interest is 1% per month payable in a maximum period of 3 years
  • Emergency loan– 2/3 rds savings without guarantors if savings are not held by guarantors but with guarantors if savings held are more than loan requested. interest is 1.5% Per month payable for a maximum period of 1 year
  • Instant loan– maximum of 10,000 but not more than half your savings payable in a month
  • 3.  Enquiries- one can check savings and temporary account balances and statements
  • 5. Close account- this is used to change pin, configure bank account details, change next of kind details and to close account
